Cookie Policy
Short version: this site sets no tracking cookies, and our analytics do not use cookies at all. The only cookies here are the ones needed to make the site work.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. Some are needed for a site to function. Others follow you between sites to build an advertising profile. We use only the first kind.
What this site sets
| Cookie | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Consent record | Remembers that you have seen this notice, so it is not shown on every page | 12 months |
| WordPress session | Set only if you log in to the site as an administrator. Ordinary visitors never receive it | Session |
Both of these are strictly necessary for the site to work as you would expect, which is why the notice on this site informs you rather than asking permission. There is nothing here to opt out of.
Analytics without cookies
We use Fathom Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. Fathom does not set cookies and does not use any similar device storage. It does not fingerprint your browser, follow you across sites, or build a profile.
Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, the ePrivacy rules that require a consent banner for analytics do not apply.
What we can see is aggregate: how many visits, which pages, which country, which site referred you. We cannot see who you are.
What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting cookies
- No Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or any Google tracking
- No social media pixels or embedded trackers
- No cross-site tracking of any kind
- No selling or sharing of visitor data
Controlling cookies yourself
Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies. Look under Settings, then Privacy. Blocking the cookies above will not break the site, though it may mean the notice reappears on each visit.
Because we set no tracking cookies, browser-level tracking protection and ad blockers will find nothing here to block.
Changes
If we ever add a service that sets cookies, we will update this page and, if the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
